I am often asked for pictures of my place, and I usually hesitate, because I don't want to be reported to the people that make the Hoarders television show. However, I just put up some new shelves in the dining room, right over my table. They are now happily holding some of my vintage 1950s-70s toys, and I thought they came out pretty well, so here's a peek:
See anything you like?
That little alien in the blue flying saucer must be so cute. And the Gumby with the astronaut helmet and... oh, you get the idea I love it ALL.
ReplyDeleteI know there's a hoarder intervention in my future :O So I just make sure everything stays clean because as far as I'm concerned the only shameful part of those shows is when they find moldy stuff.Other than that I'm usually envious ;)As I am of your cute stuff. Take care,Maricha
Your secret is safe with me. Besides, Hoarders is for people with junk. You got nothing but treasures!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brian, these are treasures!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff. I think I see Bam Bam up there. Anyway, my only hesitation with having a collection like this is the need to dust everything.
ReplyDeleteYes, the dusting is quite horrific!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the Sundae Dollhouses called??? I had(Maybe still have buried) The Blue Cup one!! They were made around 79ish?
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, welcome! The sundae dollhouses were from a series called the new Sweet Treats, late entries into Mattel's Liddle Kiddle line in 1979. (There was an earlier, different Sweet Treat line in 1969-70.) The new Sweet Treats included sundaes, cookies, and ice cream bars, all of which opened to reveal a little living space inside, along with a tiny kiddle doll.
