Dutch Village Puzzle

At a garage sale this weekend, I found this great wooden puzzle. It was made in Holland by Simplex, I'm guessing around the 1950s, and has a diameter of 7 1/2 inches. It features a charming village scene, and the great thing is, the pieces are quite thick, and when removed, can stand up to make a three-dimensional play town. Just a really great, cheery-looking toy!

  1. Wow nice, that was my grandfathers company (Simplex)which used to be in a town called "Aalst-Waalre" just below Eindhoven, he started it in the late 40's early 50's. Still amazing to find this around,

    Cheers

    1. That's fabulous! I'm so glad you found this little posting. I have a couple of other Simplex puzzles, very small ones (hand held size). One is little gnomes and a mushroom house, the other is cars. They're wonderful toys.

  2. Hi, there!
Did you know these round simplex puzzles were made (since the 1950's) of rest material that was used for making radio speakers (by Philips)??
